PHONE HOLDER

I made some business card holders recently and was so pleased with the way they looked when they were finished, that I have decided to expand the range and make phone cozies. I am also going to be adding soft cases for sunglasses very soon. These will all be available to purchase in my Etsy shop.

QUICK UPDATE

I have posted previously about our move to Australia. Well on Thursday, 24 April we finally posted my OH's TRA application to the agent. He had emailed it to be checked by the agent and they had given the thumbs up to send it in.

What a performance it has been just getting the paperwork sorted out for this. He needed to have all his orginal qualifications, a reference from his current employer, his birth certificate. He couldn't find some of his certificates and his birth certificate so we have had to send for them and of course all this costs more money. Luckily he has only ever worked at one place so he only needed that one reference.

Once we had got all of these, they then had to be photocopied twice and the photocopies had to be certified as being true copies of the originals. Luckily I know someone who could do this for us so we didn't have to pay for that.

Anyway that's it, they have gone, now we have to wait, fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly and he is successful.

BUSINESS CARD HOLDERS

I recently designed some new business cards, which I showed in a previous post. I wanted something to keep them in, so here is what I thought of.

The first one I made was Summer Blue. I designed this one to match up with my business cards, a blue and yellow theme. I am going to make one for myself and this one is going to be on sale in my Etsy shop later today.

When I designed the next one, Daisy, I had Spring in mind. A lovely time of year when all the new flowers are starting to peep through. I love the green colour of this one and the large daisy decorating it is so pretty. This one too will be on sale in my Etsy shop later today.

TWO ITEMS SOLD

I was beginning to think I would never sell anything on Etsy again, then out of the blue I made two sales. The first item to sell was my 'remember summer' cell phone cosy. My eldest daughter called in the day I was packing it ready to send. She picked it up and commented on the wrist strap, she thought it was such a good idea to have one. Hmm maybe I can sell her one later.

Two days later I was surprised to find I had made another sale, this time this pair of earrings - my bubble earrings.

If you have ever sold anything that you have made you will know how exciting it is when someone likes something enough to buy it.

Anyway I am very grateful to both these buyers and I hope they are both satisfied with their purchases.

TYNDALL CRAFT SHOW

I was reading some of the posts in the Etsy forums yesterday and I came across an announcement regarding the Tyndall Craft Show. This is a Craft Show for The Tyndall Air Force Base Community which is taking place on 17 May 2008. An event to raise money for the Air Force Aid Society and their local Airmen and Families.
Sarah, one of the organisers, was asking the Etsy community if they would like to send samples of their work or business cards, anything that could be given away at the show.
I have seen these kind of requests before but I have never bothered, but this time I thought 'why not give it a go'. So I have spent this weekend getting some things together (pictured above) to send to this event.
Unfortunately I am in the UK so will not be attending, but if anyone is in the area why not go and take a look and you never know you might get some free samples!

EMIGRATING TO AUSTRALIA

AMY ON BONDI BEACH - DECEMBER 2006

We have been thinking of emigrating to Australia for at least 3 years. About a month ago we finally made our minds up to get in touch with a migration agent and start the process.

I felt sick that morning I took the first lot of completed paperwork to the post office and sent it off, were we doing the right thing?

My husband has passed the initial assessment carried out by the agent and they feel we are able to progress to getting his trade recognised in Australia. We are at the moment gathering all the paperwork so that we can get it sent off for the TRA (Trade Recognition Australia). Once this has been passed we will be able to submit our visa application.

We are applying for a 175 visa as my husband's trade is on the MODL (Migrants Occupation in Demand List).

I will keep you posted on our application.

NEW FRIENDS

I crocheted Polly Octopus as my OH was driving us back home after we had spent the Easter break in Cornwall. It certainly made the 6 hour drive home pass a lot quicker. I think she is really cute and I am going to do some more in different colours.

This next one is Petunia Rabbit, I love her big eyes. I enjoyed making her, this is the biggest one I have attempted so far. I am going to make another one in cream and blue.

I have finally managed to get some small black beads to use as eyes for my smaller animals.

I have used some for the first time on Henrietta Hippo. She is a real cute little thing. She has got a silvertone keychain attached to her so that she can be used to look after your keys or hang from a bag. She is a real attention grabber!
